Version 1.8.4

Highlights

  • Bulk Tag is now Bulk Organize: each rule can also set a category and add the matches to collections
  • The library remembers your last sort, so it opens sorted the way you left it
  • Windows fit the screen on scaled and small displays, and the title bar stays draggable while a dialog is open

What's New

Library

  • Bulk Organize… replaces Bulk Tag in the library context menu and on the selection toolbar. Each "name contains" row now has three actions: add tags, Set category, and Add to collection. Pick the category from a menu, pick collections from the ones you already have, and apply everything in one pass with undo.
  • Files inside a matched folder take the folder's category. When two rows set a category on the same item, the row listed last wins, and the preview says so before you apply.
  • The sort you pick in the library, field and direction, is remembered across launches. It used to reset to Date Added, newest first, every time the app opened.

Improvements

  • The main window, the welcome window, and the first-launch dialogs size themselves to fit the screen before they appear, including on scaled displays and small laptops. Before, the bottom of the window could sit off-screen on first launch with no way to drag it up.
  • You can drag the window by its title bar while a dialog is open, and double-click the title bar to maximize.
  • The first-launch consent dialog's OK button answers Enter.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a folder created with New Folder in the import destination picker sometimes not being selected, which sent the import into the parent folder instead. The new folder is now selected and scrolled into view.
  • Fixed the picker's New Folder dialog opening without focus in the name box. It now opens with the default name selected and closes on Escape.
