Frequently Asked Questions

What file types does 3D Print Manager support?

We support STL files, as well as common slicer output formats (CTB, GOO, PWMO) for metadata parsing. Image files (JPG, PNG) are also supported for reference images.

Is my data safe in the cloud?

Yes. Your files live in your own encrypted container on Cloudflare R2. Only your account can access them.

Can I use the app without cloud storage?

Absolutely. It works totally offline with local storage.

What about macOS or Linux?

Windows only for now. I'd love to support other platforms eventually, but it's a big lift and I want to get the Windows version really solid first.

How do I cancel my subscription?

You can manage your subscription from your account page. Click "Manage Billing" to access the Stripe customer portal where you can cancel, upgrade, or change payment methods.

Where are my files stored locally?

By default, your library is stored in %LOCALAPPDATA%/3DPrintManager/. You can change this location if you'd like. Your database, thumbnails, and other auxiliary app files will all live in the default directory though.

Can I use the app on multiple workstations at the same time?

Not currently — only one workstation can be active at a time. Multiple workstation support with sync is on our roadmap, but for now you'll need to use one machine at a time.

What are the recommended system specs?

It's fairly light. Minimum: Windows 10 (64-bit), 4 GB RAM, DirectX 11-capable graphics (integrated is fine). Recommended: 8 GB+ RAM, a dedicated or modern integrated GPU with up-to-date drivers, and an SSD. See the full breakdown on the download page. The .NET runtime is bundled — nothing extra to install.

The app crashes, or 3D previews freeze or don't render. How do I fix it?

Update your graphics driver first — outdated drivers, especially on integrated Intel and AMD graphics, cause most of the crashes and preview glitches we see. If it keeps happening, go to Settings → Advanced → Graphics and raise Graphics compatibility: Balanced turns off anti-aliasing and eases GPU load with almost no visual difference; Maximum switches to software rendering that bypasses the graphics driver entirely — the most stable option, a little slower, and live 3D previews become static thumbnails. The app also offers to raise this for you after a crash. Restart the app to apply.

If I move or delete a file in the app, does it change the real file on disk?

Yes — and it's important to know. 3D Print Manager works directly on your actual files, not a separate copy or catalog. Renaming, moving, or deleting something in the app does the same thing to the file on your drive. It works in reverse too: add, move, or delete files in Windows Explorer and the app notices and updates your library to match. Treat it like you're working in your real folders, because you are.
